In the Courts

The CCFM mediators are available to mediate cases by appointment. In some courts, Judges will recommend mediation to the parties.

Parties can choose to try mediation, or decline and have the case tried by the judge. Parties can also voluntarily choose to have their case mediated, and can ask the judge or magistrate to recommend mediation.

Some types of court cases that can be mediated include

  • Landlord-tenant disputes
  • Contract disputes
  • Personal property disputes
  • Consumer complaints
  • Disputes arising in Small Claims Court
  • Divorce, custody, and property division

To use these services, you can either request mediation on your day in court, or contact the Center for Community & Family Mediation to schedule mediation prior to your court date.
