Peer Mediation

In the Schools

The Center for Community & Family Mediation provides training for peer mediators in most of Bermuda’s schools. Peer Mediation programs help students, teachers and school administration in several ways:

• Students learn to resolve their own disputes through mediation.
• Students learn to communicate better with teachers and fellow students.
• Student mediators learn skills that will help them throughout their lives.
• There is a reduction of problems due to violence, when conflict resolution skills become widely used.
• Students learn to apply problems solving skills to daily activities in class and to life experiences at home and with friends.
